Located in the shadows of the San Gabriel Mountains adjacent to the world famous Rose Bowl, the City of Pasadena’s beautiful Brookside Golf Club offers an outstanding combination: Two of the best daily fee layouts not only in Los Angeles but in all of Southern California. Designed by famed golf architect William P. Bell, the Brookside Golf Club boasts a 75 year golf tradition. The 36-hole complex is the oldest golf course in Los Angeles County. Regularly rated one of the top 15 golf courses in California, Brookside served as home to the Los Angeles Open in 1968, which was won by Billy Casper. It has also hosted the National Publinx Championship. Owned by the city of Pasadena, Brookside Golf Club features two 18-hole tracks: the C.W. Koiner Course, a par 72 measuring 7,228 yards, and the E.O. Nay Course, a par 70 measuring 6,046 yards. To hone your game, the facilities also include: the John Wells Pro Shop, two practice putting greens, a chipping area, practice bunker and a driving range providing everything you need for an exceptional golf experience. A note from SUDAN EDUCATION FOUNDATION: Simply Speaking is our largest fundraising event each year with an attendance of over 100 members, philanthropists, business owners and community activists, all passionate about our mission: to empower women to break barriers in order to build their futures and strengthen their communities.
We invite you to support the Junior League of Pasadena and Simply Speaking by bidding on one or more of the amazing items in our silent auction! The funds raised from your participation will enable the League to continue supporting volunteers and community leaders as we work together on our focus area: supporting the development of women in our community by strengthening their business, entrepreneurship, and leadership skills. The focus area has given life to a variety of projects under this umbrella including, but not limited to:
● Women’s Career Workshops covering topics such as resume writing and mock interviewing,
● Participation in the Little Black Dress initiative, a week-long social media awareness and fundraising
campaign to illustrate the restrictions poverty places on choices, opportunities, and access to resources,
● Advocating for legislation focused on making it better for women in the workplace.
● Development Drives, in which members donate items ranging from portfolios to professional attire,
supporting the success of workshop attendees. A new initiative this year was a noteworthy Diaper Drive in which over 4,000 diapers were donated to families in need.
